Ben G. Irons, II is a Greenville, North Carolina native and graduated from J.H. Rose High School in 1967. He 1967 graduated from J. H. Rose High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1971 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He went on to graduate from the UNC School of Law in 1974 and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar Association that same year.
Mr. Irons and his wife, Susan, moved to Raleigh, NC following law school and lived there for 14 years while Mr. Irons was an Assistant Attorney General and served as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the North Carolina Corrections. During his time as Assistant Attorney General, he wrote briefs for the Supreme Court where he is a member of the bar. He also tried civil and criminal cases in both state and federal court in addition to the appellate courts.
In 1988, Mr. Irons left Raleigh and moved back to Greenville after being appointed East Carolina University’s University Attorney where he served for nearly 20 years. After stepping down in 2005, he was a Pre-Law Advisor at ECU until 2009. In 2007, he and his son, Gib Irons founded Irons & Irons P.A. in 2007.
